Where in the World is Lindsay
Find out what I have been up to while I have been abroad!
2/14/2019 1 Comment Counting Down the DaysHello Friend, In two weeks from today, I will be leaving the United States to start my adventure abroad! Over my break, I have been working as much as I can to save up for my trip, spending time with Isaac, family, and friends, and buying everything I need to take abroad with me! As you may have guessed, I am both excited and nervous for what the next three months have in store. To combat my anxiousness, I have been praying over these two Bible verses: "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." I may have kept you updated on everything that I know about my travels so far but, if I have not, continue reading to hear all about my plans. I will be gone for about 87 days in Europe. The UNK program start date is March 10th, 2019, but I will be going abroad a week early with two other UNK students. We will be leaving from DIA (Denver International Airport) on March 2nd for London, England, will then fly to Dublin, Ireland on March 6th, and finally fly into Prague, Czech Republic on March 9th. We will then meet the rest of our UNK group on March 10th and begin classes on Monday, March 11th.
In the Czech Republic, I will be staying at Palacký University in Olomouc, which is one of UNK's sister schools. At Palacký University, I will be sharing a suite style room with one American UNK student and two students from Palacký University. I will have classes everyday with my fellow UNK students from 3-6 pm, so yes, I will still be learning while I am abroad! :) In addition to these classes, we will have field trips to Prague, Dresden, Vienna, Venice, Cracow, and Bohemia. While abroad, I hope to see as many European counties and cities as I can! I am excited to see as much art as possible for example, I will be going to Stonehenge while in England. There is a TON of art and architecture in Europe that I am excited to see for personal gain but also for professional use. When I have my own art class, I believe that I will be able to captivate my students more with my personal insight. All- in-all, three months seems like a long time to be away from everyone and everything that I know, but talking to other students who have completed study abroad (even a year long study abroad) I know that my time in Europe is going to fly by! Thanks for reading, Lindsay
